On the list FRAC-L <FRAC-L%GITVM1.BITNET@uga.cc.uga.edu> the same idea

How about two contests or collections? Fractint has a distinctive
style. I think it would be interesting to see what can be produced
with it. Those who have Fractint can learn from these samples and
do further exploration.
While I might admire a 3D rendering from a fine Amiga product, I
don't have an Amiga and must leave it there without further
exploration. It would appear that expanding to all comers is an
attempt to not leave anyone out. This is fine, my DEEPZOOM program
can get an entry then. ;^} Maybe the Cub Scout Pine Wood Dirby car
contest is a good model to follow. They have many catagories: best
colors, most inventive, most humor, most unexpected, best theme, most
ingenious, most patriotic, most creative, most original etc. etc. etc.
so that the list of awards is about 80% of the membership. We could
have best from SUN, Silicon Graphics, PC, Mac, Amiga, IBM, Cray, etc
platforms; best of Fractint, best of MandelPro, best of DEEPZOOM; and
then most colorful, most beautiful, most technical, most bizarre, most
detail, most artistic, etc etc etc etc ;-) :-) 8^]
I want to publish a book of fractals (join the club). It would have
100 to 200 color plates. Now I get the idea that each one could be
subtitled with an award catagory, like the Rose parade. Is this a
good idea or just a good (bad) joke line???
Warmly,
Jay 'Not tonight honey, I'm admiring contest pictures' Hill
