You're beyond me.  I haven't begun to learn about Lyapunov exponents.

GIPPP#3 folks should feel free to proceed whenever they feel like.  When I
mail out to the GIPPP #2 folks, I will ask them to let me know if they want
to wait abit or drop out of the GIPPP entirely.  There shouldn't be a
conflict between our two GIPPPs.
