I attended the lecture by Dr. Benoit B. Mandelbrot on Thursday, March 16th. 
It was quite interesting, well-presented, etc.  The material was similar in
ways to his introduction in _The Science of Fractal Images_, but he covered
more topics.  There were a large number of slides, consisiting mostly of
images that you will have already seen if you have that book, _The Beauty
of Fractals_, and _Chaos and Fractals: New Frontiers of Science_.
 
I am trying to transcribe the lecture, but I am having difficulty with the
sound quality of my tape; also I am not sure if it is worthwhile because I
might never actually get permission to post it on the net.
 
I photographed some of the images, and could conceivably GIF them, but
again I don't know if this is OK.
