I run a 3-d cloud model with visualization software and would be interested in viewing vortex sheets. This requires that I have a grid of values whose surfaces of constant value are the vortex sheets. We already have visualization software for viewing surfaces of constant value interpolated from a grid of values (for instance, the perturbation pressure = constant surface can be viewed for any value of "constant", and is computed from the values of pressure on the model grid). I can have either 3-d winds or 3-d vorticity vectors (or both) as input into a program to compute where the vortex sheets are. Do you know of any software which computes values whose iso-surfaces are vortex sheets? Thank you in advance. Stephen Jascourt stvjas@meteor.wisc.edu
