There was an article in Nature about a year or so ago regarding
improved scores on standardized tests following the listening
of a particular piece of music (Mozart, I think). The gist
was that listening to the Mozart piece "greased the chutes"
in a particular region of the brain required for processing
standardized tests. The effect was statistically significant,
and temporary, i.e., 24 hours after listening to the piece,
one returns to ones usual stupid self ;-).

I'd love to hear folks opinions on this study. If there
is sufficient interest, I'll look up the reference.
