I recently made a mailing list for the discussion of development of a global
image archive of research quality imagery. 

To subscribe, send a message with your full name (not your mailing address)
as follows to <listserv@ipl.rpi.edu>.  For example, if your name were
John Snodgrass, you could use the following csh command to subscribe:

% mail listserv@ipl.rpi.edu << EOF
subscribe image-archive John Snodgrass
EOF
				-----
Note: please read the above directions carefully.  The mailing list was
just flooded by a lot of people who posted subscription requests to the
list itself.  If you subscribed and did not get a welcome message back,
please try again and check the instructions carefully.
