Is there any old versions of Image floating around for the PC?

I have a book that describes Image which is several years old, an
NSF or NIH publication as I remember it ---;-)

Anyway, this book discusses running Image on a PC (actually an 
XT - eh gads!) so something was once available.  It would 
be so handy to have something like Image on a PC that's FREE!

I know what you-all are thinking, dream on!
