intravascular ultrasound

I am working with intravascular ultrasound images and am trying
to either apply existing or develop new algorithms to do the
following:

(1) Identify circularity in the image (I am trying to identify
the physiologic center of the vessel to be used for image
registration and subsequent 3-D reconstruction)

(2) Use of beam pattern in deconvolution of the images (I have
generated images depicting point spread function of transducer)
These images highly resemble radar images and I would also appreciate
receiving any information on how antenna beam patterns are used in
image processing.

Please post response to this newsgroup and/or respond by email
to the address below.

Thanks.
