After reading up on zero-phase FIR filters, I was wondering if
there is any use for non-zero-phase filters in image processing?
From what I understand, non-zero-phase filters blur the images
to which they are applied. Since low-pass non-zero-phase filters blur
high frequency info (edges), can this result be generalized for X-pass?
i.e. would an X-pass non-zero-phase filter blur info from the desired
stop band?
Thanks,
Susan
P.S. I will summarize the responses from my original posting "2d-dft phase
info" after an important thesis meeting tomorrow!
