I am at the moment working on a set of synthetic images (i.e. algorithmically/computer generated) with specific properties for testing edge detectors. Some of them comes with a "solution" (but some does not have edges at all, and no "answer" is in existence). However, I am still working on it, so it would be a bit premature to release the set. I don't know of other images specifically constructed for evaluation; it is quite normal to take a well-known image (e.g. lennie) or a local photography and use that. One of my images is a simple edge overlayed with a ceratin amount of noise. Other images test symmetry, corners. Klaus Hansen, DIKU
