Whats also geat about this bit of software is that you can display a large
images without having much of memory. Ive opened 10 MB Landsat MSS onto a PC
having 8 MB of Memory.

The commands are

files /path/filename "opens the file"
Then youll have to specify the length and width of the file and header data.
disp sub 6 " this displays the image at 6 time reduction in scale."

There is also a similar program for the Mac. Its called Pixel Pusher
and available from someplace. (FTP). its a NCSA product.

For other I'll be summarising the replies and a cookbook method for
evaluating suspended sediment in coastal waters. Complete with a decent set of
references. If anyone needs a quick answer Ill be willing to reply to
him/her.
