There seems to be a little confusion about what the datacube mailing
list is (who should be on it, who should not be on it, how to
subscribe, ...). Over the last few days I got flooded with mail
"please put me on the list" and a few hours later "please remove me from
the list". Obviously, who ever published the datacube mailing list
address forgot to say what it is all about. The following is a brief
discription to resolve this problem.
What or who is Datacube
=======================
Datacube is a company that produces a number of boards for real-time
vision and image processing applications (-> special purpose
hardware). They also provide a software package to develop
applications in C for their boards.
The Datacube mailing list
========================
In order to create a forum for discussions about Datacube hard- and
software Matthew Turk (MIT) set up a mailing list. Any
Datacube-oriented discussion is encouraged. This list is not
affiliated at all with Datacube, Inc. -- both praise and gripes are
welcome! Last fall Matthew Turk passed the administrative matters
around the Datacube mailing list on to me, Mark Stricker (U of
Chicago). In the meantime there are close to 100 sites on the list.
Anyboy working or planning to work with Datacube equipment can
subscribe to the list by sending mail to:
datacube-request@cs.uchicago.edu (this ends up on my desk)
This is the address for administrative issues (add me, remove me from
the list, ...). Please do not use the address
datacube-list@cs.uchicago.edu for these purposes since mail to this
address gets un-moderated to everybody on the list.
The Datacube mailing list IS NOT a general image processing or signal
processing mailing list. So, if you don't intend to use any Datacube
equipment then the discussions on this list are irrelevant to you.
