A remote sensing newsgroup?

Hello Netters,

I'm posting this message to try to stimulate some good discussion.

Wouldn't it be nice to have access to a newsgroup where topics were more
related to the science of remote sensing? I think there is a real need for
a newsgroup which talks about image processing techniques that relate
specifically to remote sensing applications. Does anyone else out there feel
the same way? I apologize if a group such as this currently exists and I'm
just unaware of its existence. If this is the case someone tell me how
uninformed I am and point me in the right direction. If not, I would be real
interested in hearing from others concerning this matter.

I am one person who would support such a move, I would be very interested in a newsgroup in which such topics as classification algorithms and atmospheric
corrections could be discussed.

My understanding is that this *is* the proper newsgroup for
such discussions. Use it, and see what happens.
