A question about X-terminal software on PC's.
I have been trying to use Quarterdeck's DeskViewX on a 386 40 MHz PC. I
use FTP Software's PCTCP V2.05 pl4 as the TCP/IP kernel on top of an NDIS
driver for an SMC 8013 EWC ehternet card. I use either the OPEN LOOK or
the DeskViewX window manager setup.
I either telnet or rexec to a SUN SPARC 2 running OPEN WINDOWS. I then
start up PV-WAVE version 4.0 (command line version). When I execute a
WAVE program that creates an Xwindow and writes a digital video image to
it, the PC/DeskViewX display (under the best setup circumstance I can
find => sufficient display resolution) the right hand 1/3rd of the
circular image is blanked in the display. I am not getting any
significant technical support from QuarterDeck to pinpoint the source of
the problem.
My questions to the world are:
Has anyone else met a similar problem with DeskViewX or PV-WAVE?
Do you know of a better X-terminal emulator for PC's (perhaps even tested
with PV-WAVE)?
Thanks for any help, Please reply to my e-mail listed below address directly.

I use either the OPEN LOOK or >the DeskViewX window manager setup. > Depending on the video card you have, you can select a 1024x768 16 color mode which would allow you to see more of your image. We switched from Desqview/X to DEC eXcursion for MS-Windows as it allows scrolling around an X-window, and simulates 256 colors on 16 color displays. It supports FTP TCP/IP and DECNET.
