ORLEV Scientific Computing, LTD. has a new image processing program for
MS-Windows 3.x called IPSDEMO.EXE. This program is capable of extensive,
high quality image processing on 8-bit gray-scale images.

The IPS major features are:
* reading of TIFF, GIF, BMP and arbitrary format image files (including
  interleave support).
* palette editing for pseudo color images.
* contrast enhancement: equalization, normalization, thresholding,
  negatives.
* filters: average, median, spots (digital filter), filter of equal
  brightness.
* slide window operators: smoothing, laplacian, equalization,
normalization, variance, gradient, convolution (3x3 user defined filter).
* object analysis: connect objects, object statistics, isoline, contour map.
* morphology operations: dilating, eroding, opening, closing.
* spatial transformations: shifting, rotating, mirrors (along various
  axes).
* spatial resolution calibration and unit definition.
* extensive histogram analysis (including variance, skew and kurtosis).
* all processing function are high speed using specially designed code.

I have uploaded a demonstration Beta version of the IPS program running
under MS-Windows to the following archive:

ftp.cica.indiana.edu : /pub/pc/win3/uploads

These will then probably be transfered to the appropriate demo subdirs.

Please feel free to test this program and distribute it to your friends in
complete ZIP file format only.
