What is a good scientific math package for quick simulations of image processing and Image generation (dithering, error-diffusion, etc) algorithms? I am familiar with MatLab, but am wondering if there are better packages for the above tasks. Venkat

Have you looked at PV-Wave. It runs on Sun and Vax systems.
So far, I have found it to be more useful than MATLAB (although
I am a extensive MATLAB user also) for image processing. MATLAB 4.0
looks like it may also be better at these functions, but we don't
have it installed yet.
Good luck, John.
