Is there a standard ordering of the characters in the International Phonetic
Alphabet? I've only ever seen it as a two-dimensional table, but some
African languages use IPA letters like the open O, so those at least must be
ordered.
While I'm up -- I have a booklet on the IPA ("Principles of the
International Phonetic Association") dated in the Fifties. Has it been
updated? How would I get a new one?
