Having grown up in a town where >they claim the police will ticket you for jaywalking in the middle of the >night*, I'm astounded every time I see people walking through traffic. . . I will *only* attempt to cross with a walk signal, and I've had trouble at almost every intersection in Sherman Oaks. In the 28 years I've lived in NYC I never once felt my life was in danger, but I fear getting hit any time I cross the street here. I'd be scared to death to cross in the middle of the street (and I shudder when I see people do that). Drivers here tend to not notice pedestrians when they're making a turn. -- Mike Cohen - isis@netcom.com NewtonMail, eWorld: MikeC / ALink: D6734 / AOL: MikeC20
