Please clarify a point: what is the difference between the 1944
interstate system and the very hghly publicized at the time 1956
interstate highway act that resulted in the red, white and blue
shields? When the 1956 act was publicized we all thought it was
something new. That was the act that seemed to mention 41,000 miles of
autobahnen for the first time.
