I am looking for any reference on the following Cayley's theorem:

"a line such that two points C and D on this line are constrained to lie on curves
of degree nc, nd and of circularity pc, pd, the curves not lying in parallel
planes, generates a ruled surface of degree nc(nd-pd)+nd(nc-pc)"

I am especially interested in the exception case where the curves
lie in parallel planes.
