The problem of aliasing is well-known. It enters when a time series under analysis consists of measurements made at a discrete, equally spaced set of times on some phenomenon that is actually evolving continuously - or on a much finer time scale. As an example consider some phenomenon sampled with a sampling time of 1 minute. Afterwards only hourly values are wanted. In order to avoid aliasing we must use some sort of anti-aliasing filtering on the one minute values before picking out the hourly values. Does anyone know some anti-aliasing software? Thanks / Henrik Madsen, Inst. Math. Stat. and Op. Res., Tech.Univ.Denmark.
