The following is an announcement of a talk on :

   "Statistical Graphics, Information Design, Scientific Visualization" by

    Edward Tufte, Yale University.


On Wednesday, February 12, 1992, from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., the Washington
Statistical Society Short Course Committee will sponsor a one-day tutorial
on STATISTICAL GRAPHICS, INFORMATION DESIGN, SCIENTIFIC VISUALIZATION. This
course will be held at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda in the Crystal Ballroom.
The instructor for this tutorial is Dr. Edward Tufte. Dr. Tufte is professor
of political science and statistics, lecturer in law, and senior critic in
graphic design at Yale University.
