I've read that one can ordinate the raw sample matrix to concentrate along the main diagonal by ordering the entries in the first basic vector. Could someone point me where I can find a proof of this? Also, if part of the entries in the first basic vector are all same, can I order the second vector and so on? (What happens if the vector belongs to multiple singular values? i.e. the vectors aren't unique.) Thanks for your help.
