Hi! I am a new reader of the group and need help from the expert in this
group. I am a post-graduate engineering student and working on pattern
recognition. The aim of my project is to assign a vector, V, to one of the
classes. My first task is to reduce the dimension of vector. My question is
1) How do I rank/order the element of vector according to their
discriminating information? In other words, is there any method
to measure the discriminating ability of esch member of vector?
2) How can I determine the minimum dimension of reduced vector?
Any suggestion and reference is welcome.
Thank you in advance.
P. H. Chan
