I noticed a Springer-Verlag advertisement in a recent issue of AmStat News for the book "The Bootstrap and Edgeworth Expansion" by Peter Hall. There was a little "splat" on top of the ad that read "Newly Corrected Printing". Since I had bought the book last winter when it first came out I called Springer and asked for an errata sheet. They mailed me a new copy of the book instead, which arrived today. (I still don't know what, exactly, was wrong with the first printing.) Curiously the little "splat" is gone from the latest ad in the December issue. I thought that some other statisticians might want to know about this. -- T.
