I'm interested in hearing what programs are being used to teach
undergraduate statitstics (particularly biostatistics) in a Mac-based
environment. I'd be particularly interested in programs which have strong
graphical capabilities so that students can develop a more intuitive feel
for the statistical results and how they relate to the data.

My favorite Mac based stat program is Data Desk. It is highly graphical
and promotes exploratory data analysis. Their promo quotes the American
Statistician as saying "the standard for others to follow."

Models'n'Data would seem to fit your bill almost perfectly. It is designed
to teach statistics by reinforcing the basic structure of Model + Data,
   ^^^^^
and uses graphical displays and summaries to reinforce the interpretation
and understanding of concepts such as confidence intervals, P-values and so
forth.

Models'n'Data is written by my colleague Doug Stirling and is distributed
by Intellimation, PO Box 1530, Santa Barbara, CA 93116-1530, or call
1-800-346-8355. Price is US$85 (includes manual).

DISCLAIMER: My department probably gets some revenue from sales of this
package, and Doug is a good friend of mine. As a statistics teacher,
however, I believe that it is a great teaching package regardless!
