Someone recently posted a similar question, but my mail to him
bounced...

Can someone recommend or summarize inexpensive symbolic math
software for Macs? I understand MathCad does some symbolic
stuff and can be had for $79... How about student versions of
Mathematica or Theorist?

Thanks. I'll summarize emailed responses.
