My upper teeth are inside my lower teeth, ie., I have a cross bite problem. It appears to me that the problem would be corrected if the upper teeth were moved forward about 1/4 inch. I have talked to a couple dentists and they recommended oral surgery to correct the problem. However, its not worth it to me to have surgery. What I'm wondering is whether it is possible to correct the problem with braces possibly including an external appliance to be worn at night. A potential problem is that I am already 28 so it may be hard to move the teeth. Any comments. Darrell R. Hougen

Ask an orthodontist.
