Hi There has been a lot of discontent expressed in this group recently about nursing organisations. Surely though like anything you are either part of the problem or part of the solution. These are your organisations,if you dont participate you can't influence them. The officials and staff on these organisations can only do what you want if they know what it is you want them to do. If they don't act in a way you want, either protest, then vote against them and if still not satisfied, leave and look for another. The rule of market forces works here too. If enough people of a similar mind are loking for something to join, the organisations will spring up. I want to try to compile a data base of organisations that have nurses and midwives in membership. This will appear on the "Professional organisations" page of InterNurse. Please email us with the name and address of any organisation you belong to whether professional, statutory or trades union. I think email would be best as this could eventually clog up the news group. THE ADVANTAGE TO YOU is that you may bring some publicity to your group and get more members. Also if ever you need to get some extra advice, you'll know where to ask. When on the site, have a listen to the voice of Florence Nightingale, request a free book catalogue and participate in the various pages. Thanks in advance Paul email mangan@servelan.co.uk InterNurse the Web page. http://www.wp.com/InterNurse,
