Hi all, The UK Department of Health has made a Health Service Circular "A Consultation on a Strategy for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting" available on it's web site. This was previously sent (on paper) to NHS Trust Nurse Executive Directors and Nurse Advisors in Health Authorities, and other senior individuals and bodies. This is an opportunity to be involved in the development of these professions within the NHS of the future. A copy is now available (in .pdf format) from; http://www.open.gov.uk/doh/nursing.htm The circular offers many areas of consultation about the development and role of these professions in the NHS of the future. Responses are required by 3rd July - however I can not see an email address for comments - so they need to be on paper :-( Whether any comments we make will be taken into account I can not say, but at least we have an opportunity to see proposed areas of development and make comment :-) Perhaps some discussion, about the 18 consultation points identified in the circular, on this list would be appropriate? -- Cheers Rod Rod.Ward@Sheffield.ac.uk Lecturer, School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Sheffield Professional home page - http://www.shef.ac.uk/~nr1rw Nursing & Health Care Resources on the Net - http://www.shef.ac.uk/~nhcon ICQ UIN: 4234064
