I'm posting it here, because I think it would be of interest to many
readers of this group.

==============================================================================

Here is the latest scoop on the Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI)
Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) discussion group that will be held at
the 7th Annual X Technical Conference in Boston.

Location: Sheraton Boston Hotel and Towers in Boston, MA
Date: Monday 18 January 1993
Time: 4:45pm - 6:15pm

You are invited to come to the BOF even if you are not attending
the X conference. If you want more information about the X
conference in general, you may request more information from
registration@expo.lcs.mit.edu (or me).

It will be an somewhat informal session, with people asking and
answering questions, relating experiences, etc. I will have some
product literature to look at and a short video demonstrating the
"Twiddler" (if we can get a VCR in).

If anyone has any additional materials (especially products) they
can bring in, that would be great.

I will give a quick overview of some of the information from Dan
Wallach's typing-injuries FAQ just to get us started (resources,
types of RSI, prevention, workstation ergonomics, posture, etc,
alternative keyboards, alternative input devices (e.g., voice)).

Then I think we will just open it up to sharing experiences of
people with RSI and asking and answering questions. Pretty much
the format will depend on the people we have attending. Please
remember that this is not a formal presentation by any means. It
is just a discussion group.

After the conference, I will try to post a summary of the
discussion to the SOREHAND mailing list.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, please feel
free to e-mail me.

BTW, In addition to the BOF, there may be a short talk on the
DragonDictate (speech recognition software) on Tuesday. You
should probably register for the conference ($85) if you want to
attend this talk.
