I am a third year medical student that is highly interested in
computers. Are there any residency programs available that mix
these two fields of science?

Thanks in advance,

There is an NIH post-doctoral fellowship that will allow you to study
Medical Information Systems (you don't get a degree) with the intent
of teaching computer applications when you're done. It's a two year
program.

If you're interested, e-mail me and I will try to find specifics. I
believe I read about it in an NIH fellowship bulletin.

There are NIH-sponsored post-doctoral fellowships in medical informatics.
Most but not all look for persons who have completed residency.

More information can be obtained from the National Library of Medicine
in Bethesda, Md. Call them and ask for the Extramural Programs section.

Good luck.
