Just a story about chalazions. Two years ago I had one in my left upper eyelid. I applied the usual hot compress therapy. This caused the chalazion to swell and soften. The softened tissue extended a bit to under my eyelid which impaired my vision. So it was removed by a surgeon. A few months ago I got another one, this time on my lower eyelid. Again the same therapy and the same thing happened, although the remaining tissue (a kind of very small emptied balloon, so to speak) was smaller and did remain at the inside of my eyelid. No pain, but the eyelid was a bit swollen due this "balloon" at the inside. I went to the surgeon (an appointment I had made before the therapy) but she did not want to remove it. Yesterday my eyelid started to hurt a bit and when I looked at the inside I saw that the "balloon" was dark reddish. And tomorrow it came loose spontaneously. So nature took care of this little devil, it seems. I hadn't expect this to happen and am quite happy now :) Jos Groot
