I am in search of an eye surgeon/specialist who can help me with a patient to recover his vision. This incident happened 2 days ago. The details of the reports are attaced below. The patient is currenly at Concord Hopital, Sydney, NSW, Australia. According to the eye surgeon treating the patient, the patient has very little time before a decision to remove the eye is made. I would appreciate anyone who can provide any assistance or who can put me in touch with an eye surgeon who can operate on the patient to recover his vision. You can email me on c734915@vcrpbit1.telstra.com.au Or please call me (Rahu) on +61-3-9299-6022 or my wife (Rathika) on +61-412-138-854 or Ravi on +61-3-9818-3423. Any assistance will be greately appreciated. Please call or email me, I won't be reading the news groups. Thanks, Rahu =================== REPORTS ================================ History: Direct hit to left eye by cricket ball falling GCS S Traumatic hyphema and proptosis left eye Reason: Entrapment of lateral rectus M C.T: ==== The patient was unable to extend his neck for direct cornonal imaging and only axial images were obtained. Views of the brain show no abnormality, specifically no intracranial haematoma. The left globe is expanded and irregular in outline. Its normal fluid density is entirely replace by heterogeneous high-density material suggested blood clot. The lens is in a reasonably normal position. The globe is proptosed with normal stranding in a the fat of the orbit which is continuous with the globe and presumably represents further haematoma. The optic nerve appears unremarkable. Bone windows show a small blow-out fracture of the medial wall of the left orbit. There is equivocal irregularity of the inferior orbital margin without definite fracture. There is no evidence of entrapment of the medical rectus in the medical wall fracture and no lateral wall fracture is demonstrated. CONCLUSION: Intra-occular haematoma and appearances suggesting rupture of the globe with associated proptosis and medial orbital wall fracture. FACIAL BONES: ============= Only an AP and lateral view have been submitted and these show no nony abnormality. LEFT EYE/ORBIT ============== No plain x-rays specifically of the left orbit have been submitted. --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- ---Share what you know. Learn what you don't.---
