I need to get three pairs of prescription glasses made (near, far, bifocal) in the DC Metro/Suburban MD area. I checked the prices at Lens Crafters in White Flint Mall, and they are off the roof! Can anyone recommend anyplace, preferably not too far from Rockville / Kensington / Bethesda / Gaithersburg MD, that has a little more reasonable prices? Someplace where they can actually do the eye exam on site as well would be helpful. Thanks in advance for all replies. Steve O. I don't know how their prices compare with Lenscrafters but they seemed reasonable in conjunction with coupons they have often. You can get the coupons on their web site. -- Charles

Don't be confused about "on-site" eye exams. The OD's are usually not directly affiliated with the optical stores, they just rent space. You can go to any OD (even at Lenscraters) and get a written Rx that is valid anywhere.

Well, assuming you can get into a Costco Warehouse, I've been getting glasses from Costco Optical for years: generally between 60 and 90 a pair, mostly dependent on the frames. ..
