When I lived in Chicago, I found that boric acid WAS the final solution for taking care of roaches.. Let's hear some tales. Here's one from me. At Californial Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, an experiment was performed in the early 60's on some Cuban roaches which were supposed to be one of the largest in existence. Apparently, some droppings were placed in a trash can, and now they are underneath the science building. As of 1983, they were still there, at least a zillion of them, scaring the crap out of students who walk into the labs at night to work on a project, only to find them dropping off of counters, etc. Fast critters, they were. At any rate, one Thanksgiving, a roach got stuck on some duct tape in the physics labs. Physicists being the curious types, placed him in a mayonaisse jar, poked a few holes in the top, and left him... over Christmas break. When they came back, Enrique (his adopted name) was still as active as a hungry roach in mayonaisse jar, to coin a phrase. When they droppered some water in the jar, Enrique ran over and immediately sucked up the entire amount. So they dropped in a small chunk of peanut butter.... Same results... So they left a huge chunk in the jar, along with plenty of water.. Went home for the day. Then next day.. Guess what???? Enrique had eaten until his stomach exploded.. Perhaps the solution to the roach problem is to place open jars of peanut butter around the house. Sort of like a Roach Cafe........
