RUNE goes on the air! Poetry and fiction from RUNE, MIT's Journal of Arts and Letters, and interviews with several staff-members, will air from 10:30 to 11:30 tonight on WMBR. RUNE exists to encourage artistic expression and to stimulate interaction among the members of the literary and artistic communities at MIT. It's primary medium is the printed journal, but volume 15 is now also on the World Wide Web, where we hope to expand our presence. (the URL is http://www.ai.mit.edu/~spraxlo/rune/RUNE.html). Printed copies of 15 RUNE (published May 1994) are free (while thay last) can be obtained from the Writing Program office or any Rune staff-member. About 3000 copies have been distributed among students, alumni, and friends of MIT since May. RUNE has been published annually by students and employees of MIT, and we hope to publish biannually beginning this Fall semester. To submit work, send manuscripts or 2D artwork via campus mail c/o RUNE to MIT Rm. 50-309 or to W20-401. Manuscripts may also be submitted by electronic mail to rune@mit.edu (no .dvi or .ps files, please). Original artwork will be stored safely, but returned only by arrangement. Taped this afternoon, the radio show was made possible by the generous efforts of Bill Hosten of WMBR (and MIT condensed matter physics) and Sally Cragin, journalist, writer, and publisher of Button, a small journal of fiction, poetry, and gracious living (available at Groliers). For more information about RUNE or anything above, email me or rune-staff@mit.edu. - Sprax (spraxlo@ai.mit.edu)
