Hi all! Do you know these lamps, which consist of a glass-bottle, wich is filled with a fluid and a waxlike substance? The bottle is positioned over a lightbulb and so it is illuminated and heated from the bulb. The "wax" gets warm, becomes slightly lighter (less dense) than the surrounding fluid, so that it moves to the top of the bottle. There it cooles down and descends back to the bottom. This looks like an eruption or something, so over here (in germany) these lamps are sold as "lava-lamps". If you know what I`m speaking of, perhaps you do know what these lamps are filled with? There were some "recipies" availible somewhere in the web, but I can`t find theme anymore... So if you have one, please send me an e-mail or follow up this article (follow up field is set to de.sci.misc - I do not read these internationial newsgroups very often). Thank you for reading this and greetings from germany! Sigi
