The facility will be used to evaluate the performance of high speed (2.5Gbits/sec) WDM optical transmission equipment. Duties Set-up and run experiments in reliability laboratory. Tasks include automating the data acquisition process, i.e. automatically gathering data (wavelength, optical power, bit error rate, etc.) on components, boards and systems undergoing environmental stress (temperature, humidity and vibration). Once a robust data acquisition platform has been established it will be necessary to create and manage a database to track all the information that is being gathered in the laboratory. Skills Must Have Strong software background. Ability to write data acquisition and control programs, controlling test equipment via a GPIB interface. Skills Desired Visual C, Visual Basic, or Labview programming skills. MS Access and/or MS Foxpro database experience. Familiarity/experience with high speed optical fiber-based test equipment. An understanding of optoelectronic components. Characteristics Independent thinker, self starter, but also able to take direction and constructive feedback. Capable of managing technicians. Education Bachelors degree or higher in engineering or related field. Expertise in developing software. -- Murray Newcomb (Technical Coordinator) Evolution Technologies WWPS evolve@internetMCI.com Fax: 765.289.1468 ------=_NextPart_000_01BC975E.CEC0E7C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<BODY bgcolor=3D"#FFFFFF">
<font size=3D2 = color=3D"#000000" face=3D"Times New = Roman">Title Senior Engineer (Reliability Data = Acquisition and Database )

Department Photonic = Technologies

Reports to Associate Principal = Engineer

Position Summary	Set-up and supervise = hardware and software to implement an automatic data acquisition = facility within a reliability and environmental stress lab. = The facility will be used to evaluate the performance of high = speed (2.5Gbits/sec) WDM optical transmission = equipment.

Duties Set-up and run = experiments in reliability laboratory.
