Senior/Lead Engineer Position Summary: Specify and qualify passive optical components and vendors Position Code: #HY-1 (Please Include it reduces confusion on my part - HR) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Specificy optical and mechanical functions of passive optical components Evaluate and qualify components and vendors for use in Ciena systems Establish alternative suppliers for components in use Optical testing of optical components, subassemblies and modules fo ruse in products. Maintain component specifications Perform vendor audits. Skills Experience with a variety of optical components used in fiber optic systems Fiber optic handling and splicing Fiber optic device testing and measurement knowledge Computer literate perferably with some progamming and computer interfacing ability for laboratory automation.
