The last solar eclipse of the 2nd millennium takes place
on August 11 and the Perseid meteor shower peaks on August 12!

For information about these two events,
go to the award winning site
http://ajanta.sci.ccny.cuny.edu/~jupiter/pub/sciinfo/index.html

At the website,
links are listed where one can watch the eclipse on the internet live!
As for the Perseid meteor shower, the best of the year,
viewing suggestions and background information are provided.

Good luck.
