$$ AC current is an Alternating DC current, Dimwit. ```Brian.

Bear in mind that magnets are much, much smaller than photons!!!!!!! Light cannot penetrate a 6 mil piece of black plastic for instance or a thin piece of wood, magnets have no problem at all doing so. > > $$ Technically, "light" AND "heat" ARE "..the same thing", idiot. > > > EM radiation, photons, they are all labels for *the same thing*. Bull! > > > > So when you make a statement like "does a photon also generate an EM > > wave," you're asking whether light generates light. The answer to that > > is no. LMAO! Yes but the photon must travel on an electromatic wave. It may not generate the wave but it's travel is dependent on a wave being present. It is the old chicken or the egg thingy :) Look, you know that Faraday proved that if you draw a magnet through a copper coil a current will be produced. What they left out of your book is that you CAN glue the magnet to the coil and if both are moved together in space (turned for instance) the same current is produced! Now that wads up the paper the laws of thermodynamics are written on and we couldn't have that could we? Best to leave that part out :) It might lead one to zero points and space/time anomolies and such ;) Electricity is only part of the riddle of magnets. Mitch >

Mitch posted this humorous bit of fantasy: "Look, you know that Faraday proved that if you draw a magnet through a copper coil a current will be produced. What they left out of your book is that you CAN glue the magnet to the coil and if both are moved together in space (turned for instance) the same current is produced!" This is of course total nonsense. If there is no change in the magnetic flux density within the coil, neither voltage nor a resulting current is produced. As Faraday put it: E = - N dB/dt Where: E is the voltage indiced; N is the number of turns in the coil, and dB/dt is the time rate of change in the magnetic flux density passing through the coil. With the magnet glued to the coil (excluding variations in the permeability of space), no voltage or current is produced. Mitch, since this is such very basic material I have to allow that you may have posted it as a joke to the ever clueless Brian Stuckless, and simply overlooked posting the smiley emoticon indicating the nature of your followup. Other silly and untrue things that you've posted support this interpretation, such as: "All electrical energy is produced by magnets." (Batteries produce electrical energy without the use of magnets. "Light cannot penetrate a 6 mil piece of black plastic for instance or a thin piece of wood, magnets have no problem at all doing so." (This completely overlooks the fact that magnetic fields and electromagnetic waves are completely different things. Also, electromagnetic waves (photons if you prefer) such as x-rays and radio waves can penetrate objects that are opaque to light in the visible spectrum). Post some more funny stuff, it keeps my kids amused! :-) Kindest regards, Harry C
