I quote something I wrote in another thread. As regards Lennon and McCartney, I think they and the other Beatles did their best work together. In a similar way, Jagger and Richards have given us together what I am sure they could not have done separately, some stunning lyrics and associated music, and almost certainly they could not have done it without the Rolling Stones! AxBxC... - not A+B+C... - a product rather than a simple sum. 'Bertrand Russell was a logician. What he meant was a bit ironic, I suppose. The atheist was obsessesively preoccupied with the Christain's claims! He felt, I think, that they needed each other, but that he himself needed neither of them! As regards the age of the earth, so long as pointer readings continue to work reliably (Rutherford), it does not matter if the universe is creating itself constantly to agree with our readings. If your aunt has the illusion she took tea at the Ritz last Friday and you know for sure the universe did not then exist, either you or she ought to be locked up - unless you understand Russell's sense of fun!' [And John's sense of fun! Ed.] -- 'foolsrushin.' EnlightenMe wrote: > 'foolsrushin' wrote: > > EnlightenMe (account) wrote: > > > > > Anyway, back to a question that I noticed.
