I am happy to set out the true facts in relation to the matter you
mention. As for Brian and Shirley, there has been no recent published
material.

On the "mutilated vagina" issue, here is what actually happened.
Contrary to Demon's allegation, I certainly did not make any posting
implying that female circumcision was practised in Thailand (obviously
it is not) nor did I introduce the subject of "mutilated vaginas". The
subject of female circumcision and the mention of "mutilated vaginas"
were both introduced by a then regular poster to s.c.t. known as
"Laughing Larry", who had nothing at all to do with. The subject of
female circumcision was first raised in a posting from Laughing Larry
dated 16 Nov. 1995. When challenged on his claim that it was practised
in Thailand he offered to "post a GIF of the mutilated vagina" in a
posting dated 18 Nov. 1995 and in a further posting dated 24 Nov.
1995.

It is difficult to understand how Demon could have so completely
misunderstood the thread and which poster asserted what.  It is
perfectly clear from the full record of postings made to sct during
the relevant period of time, copies of which which were by that stage
in my proceedings in the possession of both Demon and myself, that the
subject of "mutilated vaginas" was introduced by Laughing Larry and
that it was he, not I, who advanced the claim that female circumcision
is carried out in Thailand.

As I recall, most of Laughing Larry's postings were not serious, and I
cannot believe that either his claim about circumcision or his offer
to post "the close-up off [sic] the mutilated vagina" were intended to
be serious. In reply to Laughing Larry's offer to "post a GIF of the
mutilated vagina..", I wrote the words in a posting: "Would you mind
clearly labelling the photo of the mutilated vagina with  the words
"mutilated vagina" or the abbreviation "M.V.", so that readers do not
simply confuse it with a mugshot of Sharman or Dawson?" These words
were intended as a joke, which is explained below.

At the time, there had been much argument in sct about requiring
posters to place the abbreviation "T.H." in the subject of those
postings written in the Thai language, so that readers who did not
understand Thai would not make the mistake of expecting them to be in
English. My suggestion that Laughing Larry use the abbreviation "M.V."
on his purported GIF(s) was intended to parody the earlier discussion.
Sharman and Dawson were two regular posters to s.c.t. who were known
for frequently taking issue with me on my postings and readers
regarded both of these contributors as my sworn enemies.
