The AGWers were initially blessed with the fortune of increasing
temperatures to support (not prove) their hypothesis. Since that time
they have been at great pains to cling to their mantra, as temperatures
fail to follow the cataclysmic trajectory their "science" predicts.

As Kevin Trenberth (of East Anglia notoriety) wrote to Michael
(Piltdown) Mann, father of Mannmade Global Warming and fabricator of
hockeysticks:
"The fact is that we can't account for the lack of warming at the moment
and it is a travesty that we can't".

That suggests to me that the hypothesis is severely flawed (false) but
that its disciples will cling to it for grim death, lest their funding
be terminated.

So it's not worth a pinch of shit in the world of science. Politicians
use consensus. Scientists don't. Real scientists don't say "we can't
prove anything but we still think it's very likely."
