: Enough time, in fact, for a bear population to become a whale population.
: Here's the evidence, which I'm sure any reputable geneticist would agree
: is entirely possible and believable. Creationists that refuse to believe
: the fact of evolution, wake up!!!!! Evolution is real, and can happen as
: described in the following remark. Believe it!!!!!!!

: "In North America the black bear was seen by Hearne swimming for hours
: with widely open mouth, thus catching, like a whale, insects in the water.
: Even in so extreme a case as this, if the supply of insects were constant,
: and if better adapted competitors did not already exist in the country, I
: can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural
: selection, more and more aquatic in their structure and habits, with
: larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a
: whale."-_On the Origin of Species_ (1859), original edition, pg. 184.

So I suppose that legs and feet ceased to be useful to the
animal and he stopped using them. Maybe. Now front paws also
proved of no use to the animal and he stopped using them too. Meanwhile
his two nostrils turned to one and migrated to the top of his head.
All the while providing advantage along with maintaining viability
of the bear?
