I am not an information-theory guru, but to me it sounds that your assertion
that information containing no matter or energy is WRONG. Information must
have a physical representation or there is no means of detecting it i.e. it
ceases to be information.

Information has a location - ink on paper, magnetised tapes, electronic
switches etc. It cannot exist elsewhere without being transported IN
PHYSICAL FORM. The actual physical forms to represent the information may
vary it is translated between forms by various conventions/languages which
are understood by the observers.
