I would *love* to see a map of the freeways that are reinforced and those that are "scheduled" to be. I bet you could never get that information and make it public. I believe that the city's freeways are pathetically covered against quakes. In the 89 quake in SF when the freeway collapsed, they claimed that that section was just about due for reinforcement. Bull. I don't buy that you can fuck up a freeway upgrades and whenever something wrong happens, say "oh we were just about to get it that one." And when the freeways collaped in the same place in 1971 why were they rebuild exactly the same way so that they'd collapse again. Further, I believe that all public service buildings should have been *required* to be earthquake upgraded. I can understand taht individual apartment landlords cannot upgrade and make their buildings safe, but, by God, each and ever single damn hospital should have been fucking upgraded. It's a crime. This was only a lousey 6.6. -- Roger Carasso ______________________GOD IS MY MODERATOR_____ My thoughts are my own and do not represent Inference Corp. _______________Will betray country for food_________________ --
