The original TV series was better when it aired back in 1980-81. I mean, it was left wing propaganda with some science and history mixed in. I forget which happened first and which was second, but Ted Turner got his hands on it and sped up the thing so that Sagan speaks more like a auctioneer or a squirrel on speed. After Sagan died, his widow(?) got a hold of it and went off the deep paranoia end with the left wing propaganda. It was ruined. Yeah, I figured Sagan for a pot head and it wasn't all that great; but they took his work and bastardized it for their own ends. -- http://OnToMars.org For discussions about Mars and Mars colonization
