Have you considered an absorbent polymer.

to collect wound fluid For a senior research project at Bethel College, I'm working with the wound healing lab at the Univ of Minn. trying to find a new sponge that can be inserted under the skin of rats at a wound site. The idea is to collect wound fluid and cells that participate in the wound healing process. Right now they are using a polyvinyl alcohal sponge but are having trouble removing some of the cells. What I would like to find is a semi-stable polymer in the body but when it is removed, it can be desolved w/o hurting the cells. I don't know if it would be better to make it tempeture dependent or functional group dependent polymer. This is the first time I have ever used the user net so if there are better places to look for the answer to this question it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks for your time. Travis Here's a url where one can find suppliers CSHL on line book. http://www.biosupplynet.com/bsn/ See also: http://www.techexpo.com/directry.html which has a really easy search engine which includes application searches. Also see: the Biotech Company WWW Registry at http://155.41.115.114/jumper/biolcomm.html This is a good source of contact information we use. -- Amos Heckendorf (nestgrp@world.std.com) WWW URL: HTTP://world.std.com/~nestgrp Tel: 800-347-6378 or 508-481-6223; FAX: 508-485-5736. It may be easier and more direct to simply submit PVA sponges for histological evaluation and morphometric analysis ....
